The women’s basketball team was eliminated from the first round of the PSAC tournament with a 64-85 loss against Edinboro Monday night.
The women’s team finished the season with an overall record of 13 wins and 18 losses after placing fifth in the PSAC West standings for a consecutive year.
Cal had its streak of 26 consecutive winning seasons capped off this winter, as it last posted a sub-.500 record, a winning rate under 50%, in their 1997-98 campaign.
Meanwhile, Edinboro improves to 18-12 overall advances to face Lock Haven in the quarterfinals of the PSAC Tournament.
According to Vulcan Athletics, Sophomore Hope Hawkins led the team with 17 points while shooting 6 out of 17 field goal shot attempts. She also tallied seven rebounds, four that were offensive, and two blocks in the loss.

Junior Kimaya Williams scored 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in the loss. Classmate Kennedy Bankett scored 11 points while closing the year as the team’s leading scorer with an average of 15.7 points per game.
Led by double scorers junior Bryson Lucas and sophomore Jordyn Buchanan, the Vulcans claimed an 81-56 victory over Shepherd in the PSAC quarterfinals on Wednesday night at their home court in the Convocation Center.
With the win, the men’s basketball team improves to 20 wins and 8 losses overall and advances to face Seton Hill in the semifinals of the PSAC Tournament in Erie, PA on Saturday, March 7. The men’s team reached the 20 win mark for the third time in five years while advancing to the tournament semifinals for a third consecutive season.

Lucas recorded his 11th double scoring of the season, as he scored 15 points and 13 rebounds in the match. He also added four assists, three blocks and three steals while playing 38 minutes. Lucas also joined Eric Watson and Derrick Scott as the only players in program history with 1,000 points and 100 blocks in a career.
Buchanan finished with 16 points scored and 10 rebounds for his first double scoring of the year. Junior Dalman Alexander collected 15 points with the seven-of-seven shooting technique and five rebounds
Senior Brayden Reynolds scored 13 points, five rebounds, eight assists and three steals.
The Vulcans face Seton Hill in the semifinals on Saturday for the third meeting in the PSAC tournament in four years.
The Seton Hill Griffins, which finished fourth in the PSAC West leaderboard, advanced to the semifinals with a 77-75 win at Millersville on Wednesday.
