The Student Activities Board is bringing Mike Stud and Skizzy Mars to Cal U for a concert on November 7th.

Mike Stud is best known for his 2016 album “These Days” which featured songs such as “Swish” “10th Inning” and a remix of his hit single “These Days” featuring Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman. Stud rose to fame in 2013 with his album “Relief” which was inspired by Stud’s time pitching at Duke University.

His actual birth name is Michael Seander but he came up with “Mike Stud” as a Twitter alias while at Duke because athletes were banned from social media. Seander turned to rapping after he blew his arm out in college this was a huge adjustment because many people do not know that Seander has the record for saves at Duke University and most likely would have been drafted into Major League Baseball if it wasn’t for his career ending arm injury. Stud is known for bringing a high energy level into his shows which is something that has the potential to rock Cal U during his performance.

While Stud is known for his high energy songs Skizzy Mars is known for his calming chill music. Skizzy’s hit songs include “Time” “2006” and “Do You There.” Skizzy had his first big breakthrough this spring with his EP “Are You OK?” Skizzy’s rap style is a perfect compliment to Mike Stud’s energetic performance style.

I personally cannot wait for this concert and hope that everyone enjoys it.
