Faculty and student volunteers are needed for the upcoming Southwest PA Regional Science Olympiad tournament. Previous and first-time volunteers are both welcome to sign up for this commitment.
The tournament will host a variety of STEM-focused students from eighteen high schools and eight middle schools, all of whom will be competing on Friday, March 27 at the PennWest California campus.
Current need for volunteers includes the following roles: event supervisors (event setup/running and returning tournament scores), assistant event supervisors (assist event supervisors in setting up, running, and scoring an event), volunteer (assigned to aid in the running and scoring of 1 or more events across campus). Materials for setup and detailed instructions will be supplied a month in advance of the tournament.
Time commitments will differ depending on the event. Impound and build event setup will begin around 7 a.m., and main tournament events will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Most events will take 2 to 3 hours, but others, including build events, may take longer.

Faculty and student volunteers can include times they are available in the Microsoft form registration link.
For any faculty member who would like to volunteer, fill out the Faculty Volunteer Form. Faculty volunteers will be sent detailed instructions with how to register as an Event Supervisor or Volunteer through the PA Science Olympiad website closer to the event date.
Student Volunteers who would be interested in helping with this event can fill out and refer others to the Student Volunteer Form. All majors are welcome to volunteer for the event.
