On Thursday, Sept. 14, students gathered on the Natali turf for PennWest California’s Fall Club and Organization Fair. Students were able to meet the members of PennWest California’s wide range of organizations, including academics, sports, Greek Life organizations, and many others.

New and returning students alike had the opportunity to find new groups and places on campus to suit their interests. Offering over 100 clubs and organizations, PennWest California offers extensive options for those hoping to get involved.

Many clubs attracted students with activities to show all that their club has to offer.  Women’s Rugby displayed a cardboard cutout game for students to aim at with a rugby ball, while the Vulcan Gaming Club featured a disk drop game. Other clubs had giveaways with candy and other prizes, with the STAND ministry giving out root beer floats, the Vulcan Village team providing themed cups and T-shirts, and the Student Government Association handing out PennWest decorative flags and water bottles. Students also listened as WCAL played music throughout the fair.

Students may be seeking to participate in sports, appreciate the arts with others, celebrate their faith with a religious community, or expand their leadership skills. No matter what, joining a club on campus allows students to cultivate their social life on campus with like-minded individuals.

Signing up for an organization at the fair is just the first step for students to get involved.  Attending an event or reaching out to the members can open doors for students to not only learn more about others, but also themselves. Students can nurture their interests and hobbies, as well as build connections that may help them network for their future career. Overall, PennWest’s unique display of different clubs will offer something for any student.
