Sports: Cal U features 253 students on AD Honor Roll

A total of 253 California University of Pennsylvania student-athletes, representing all sports (fall, winter and spring), were named to the Spring 2020 edition of the Athletic Director Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. Overall, the Vulcans posted a cumulative GPA of 3.520 last semester, while 37 student-athletes boasted a perfect 4.00 GPA (all grades were As).

To be eligible for the academic honor, student-athletes must earn a GPA of 3.00 or higher during the semester. Volleyball posted the highest team GPA at 3.813 and featured all 15 student-athletes on the Honor Roll. On the men’s side, cross country posted the top GPA of the eight sports at 3.604 with nine student-athletes holding a 3.00 GPA or better.

In terms of pure numbers, football led all sports with 43 representatives on the Honor Roll, followed by women’s track & field (37), baseball (30), men’s track & field (22), women’s soccer (21), men’s soccer (20), softball (15), volleyball (15), women’s basketball (13), men’s basketball (12), swimming (12), women’s cross country (11) and tennis (10).
