On Saturday, Sept. 13, the California Vulcans defeated the West Chester Golden Rams in a head-to-head game at Adamson Stadium.
The Vulcans Cheerleading and dance teams were all there to cheer them on, along with the Vulcans marching band. This was a tight game throughout, but the Vulcans beat the Golden Rams 26-24, leaving the Vulcans 2-0 and the West Chester Golden Rams 1-1.
Some highlights from the game were Wide Receiver Junior D’Avay Johnson had four catches for 35 yards, and Quarterback Junior Bobbie Boyd led the team with 79 yards on 17 attempts and one touchdown.
Sophomore Malachi Thomas had the defense with nine tackles. Also, Junior Khalil Taylor and Junior Grant Hopple both had eight tackles. Sophomore kicker Harry Radcliffe had three of three field goals, with 37 yards.
Offensive lineman Nasim Gray said, “Celebrate the little things.”
This is definitely a win our football team should be celebrating.
