The Alumni house started construction in June of 2001 and took about 17 months to complete. They also added a fountain and garden in memory of Julia Kara.
Building this cost around $3.9 million, but most of it was donated by alumni. They held a dedication ceremony homecoming weekend on October 12, 2003, and it was led by former university president Angelo Armenti Jr.
It was dedicated to Michael and Julia Kara. Also, Dr. Elizabeth Kara Dodson received a memento of a display that holds a symbolic key to the new house.
There are many different places in this house, but one I thoroughly enjoyed seeing was the drawing room, which includes many archived yearbooks along with many things alumni-specific.
This house now also includes offices on the top floor. I recommend checking this building out whenever you can.
