On Friday, April 25, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., local Pittsburgh LGBTQ+ organizations OneHood Media, True T Pittsburgh, Trans YOUniting, Allies Health, and others hosted a Kiki ball to gather donations for the newly opened QMNTY closet, a place where low income and impoverished LGBTQ+ individuals can pick up clothing free of charge.Large plastic bins filled with clothing ranging from button-up shirts and jeans to dresses and fashion accessories were filled, as well as the clothing swap exchange clothing rack. Participants and visitors enjoyed special appearances from famed ballroom culture figures, including the legendary Kevin JZ Prodigy, who toured with music stars Madonna and Beyoncé, debuting their new song for the first time. The ball categories were met with creative fashion pieces inspired by the Pittsburgh Steelers and runway pieces made entirely from sustainable materials, such as dresses made from newspaper and recycled plastic bags, and decor. Over $1,000 in prize money was awarded to grand prize winners, in addition to golden miniature trophies.

The Kiki ball garnered a large amount of support from both participants and visitors, with all donation bins being filled and exceptional effort from all participants to put on a glamorous, unforgettable show that was eye catching.
