Reaction: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Divorce

Angelina Jolie kicks Brad Pitt to the curb citing irreconcilable differences in her filings for divorce. Pitt allegedly lunged and made some kind of physical contact with their 15 year old son, Maddox, during a plane trip from France on September 14.

Details on what kind of contact he made are unclear at this point. The boy was defending his mother in some way when Pitt jumped at him. Jolie jumped in the middle. The next day she filed for divorce.

Pitt denies the allegations of abuse. However, sources close to him acknowledge there was an incident on the jet. Child and Family Services and the Los Angeles Police Department are looking into the event.

Sources close to Pitt say that he was drunk during the altercation. Jolie says he was sober but got drunk later in the flight. Rumors of him having problems with weed and alcohol are surfacing. In an interview with Esquire Magazine in 2013, Pitt admitted he had a drugged up past.

“For a long time I thought I did too much damage – drug damage,” he said in Esquire’s article. “I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired. I followed that other thing.”

Jolie reportedly said she’d never leave him over a substance abuse problem. The divorce is about protecting the children. Although they’ve been together since 2004 they’ve only been married since August 2014.

Pitt, 52, is also rumored to have been having an affair with French actress, Marion Cotillard, 40. She denied the rumors on Instagram and shared of the love she has for her partner, Guillaume Canet. The two are expecting their second child.

Jolie lists the date of separation as Sept. 15, 2016. Jolie wants sole custody of their six kids and wants him to have visitation. Verbal and physical abuse of children to her is a deal breaker.

Many thickening aspects of this break up have come to light. Whether he cheated, got drunk, or got high seem trivial if he is found to be guilty of child abuse.

What it comes down to is, was the incident with Maddox considered child abuse, discipline or perhaps  just an exaggeration by Jolie in order to quickly get out of the marriage?
